Think you know your superfoods? Think again, because Peruvian restaurant Andina is guaranteed to introduce you to at least one you’ve never heard of.
For me it was tiger’s milk, the citrussy, piquant marinade bathing chef Martin Morales’s delicately divine ceviche. Tiger’s milk is allegedly an aphrodisiac, so no wonder Peruvians are fond of drinking it out of shot glasses. It certainly tastes good enough (although I’ll draw a discreet veil over its other properties).
The menu at Andina may be super healthy, but it certainly isn’t worthy or dull. Choose a few small plates and you’ll encounter the likes of confit pork belly, choclo corn, and high-altitude ancestral potatoes.
All are superlative, especially when accompanied by the restaurant’s signature pisco sours.
